The once lovely booby flap
There used to be this lovely young woman (drop dead gorgeous in fact, with nipples that so pointed in the right direction!) who wanted to do medicine and donate her time to Aid agencies in third world countries. At eighteen years of age, the daunting prospect of Medical school in Sydneywas just far too great. So, the one with the breasts who stayed in position, got married instead. Seemed totally logical to her at the time.
Lovely young woman with the flat stomach, the full rounded chest swellings and the face with no eye sags begun to lose her self to her other dream career of being a wife and mother. Two babies later, with domestic violence, poverty, sagging streaky strips of bacon on her chest where beautiful objects used to be and eyes that said, “Back away from me Buddy or I’ll give you a piece of my mind,” lovely young woman left the home of marital bliss.
Back to uni lovely went. It amazed her that having beautifully sculptured breasts did not impede learning capacity. Even though she was now almost having to wear a bra just to make it look as though she had breasts, she still pulled top marks. Seemed she could still pull the guys too, because twenty something lovely got married again.
Life was ………. divine, is the word I think is supposed to go here. Two more babies, stretch marks galore, hair that had not seen a hairdresser for eons and, oh my God…those beautiful breasts were now pathetic ribbons hanging down around her over stretched navel.
Second husband left. He didn’t like the look of the aging and baby worn out lovely any more. Not only did second husband leave, he declared himself bankrupt and gifted aging lovely with a good dose of sexually transmitted debt!
Never one to allow adversity to boss her around, old lovely decided to pay off the debt and she re-entered the world with her breast flung over one shoulder like the cape of a true survivor.
A true survivor, once lovely was. Survival does not equate to intelligence though because that Booby Cape Crusader got married a third time. OMG…three times married. “No more babies,” Cape Crusader intonated with more than a hint of menace. “No more babies, and probably even no more sex.”
“I have given my life to men and children and now I want some life back for me. I choose to work as a life coach and help others remove their limiting beliefs about how life should be.”
So stringy bacon chested, round stomached, stretch marked aging lovely, put her middle finger up at the world, changed her career from child therapist to life coach, and took the Universe by storm.
It’s amazing how much a little selfishness and a bloody good bra can vastly improve self esteem and concentration capacity. Hell….nowadays I (for yes, I am that lovely) even wear shorts and shock the world by showing my leggy signs of motherhood – varicose and spider veins.
Yeehaw. Thanks for accepting me Universe. No matter how flappy my boobs or how many ex husbands I collected, nothing or no-one can change my ultimate belief in my lovely self because I found my own tenacity, my own worth and my own place in the world. I found this by staying mentally healthy and keeping in touch with the sisters; those amazing, non judgentmental, women who dared to poke fun at themselves and hold their compassion for other sisters as an important and pivotal point of life.
Today, do something good for you….smile, non judgentmentally, at another woman and you smile at yourself. While you smile, I throw both my booby flaps over my respective shoulders and take the heroine stance of inclusion – look after the women in your life and you look after the future.

LOVED this post! I'm still on hubby #1 - but up to baby #3. I'm afraid to get a mammogram...not because of results but because of the thought of baring my droopy little A- cups. Who would have thought that which was once so perky could look so....so-so!! lol Thanks for posting....
